A Great Weekend! Love You All!

November 9, 2008 by danbrowncreative

NOVEMBER 7-8, 2008: It’s a wrap!

EARLY PHOTOS JUST ARRIVED! Click on next page for more!

cov_9It went so quickly! What a great blessing it was to meet you all and spend a very special weekend together. Stay tuned, we’ll be posting some photos tomorrow. Victor and Kevin assured me that they have captured the weekend in pictures, so we’re really excited to see what they shot. Abe and Asha, love you guys—we can’t thank God enough for putting you in our path. Mari and Vic, the only remaining charter members of this ministry—you already know how much we love and appreciate you two. Kevin and Diana, you guys are the best—I love the comment that Kevin looked like Burt Bacarrach with the wig on. That’s a line we’ll be laughing at often.  And Dennis and Josephine. The romantics. The music was great and this weekend will be fondly remembered as the “great haircut” weekend. You guys are beautiful. Thank God you’re here.

And to all who attended. What can we say? You shouldn’t thank us—we should thank you! You are an encouragement to us…

Keep in touch, post some wedding pictures! Tell your pastor, share the joy…God wil care for us and wants us to be happy—especially in marriage.

Please click on comments and leave one. And we love you all.

November 7-8, 2008 Weekend

November 7, 2008 by danbrowncreative

Welcome! The entire team would like to extend our thanks for your participation in this weekend event. We hope that you’ll find this experience enjoyable and informative. But the point is to spend some time together with your spouse. To relax and enjoy each other. To retreat from the world, away from pressures and cares, and simply be with each other and other married couples. It’s a time to invite Jesus into your marriage and realize the enormous blessings He bestows on those who receive the sacrament of marriage.

We will be posting photos of the experience here and you’re invited to communicate via posts with the team and those you met on the weekend.

Once again, welcome!

Preparation for the Sacrament of Marriage.

One of the most pleasant moments in pastoral ministry is having a couple come to you and request that their civil marriage be blessed in the church. Frequently, we are so excited that the couple wants their marriage convalidated that we forget that this is a special time when they are open to instruction on the meaning of the sacrament that they are about to receive.

The Engaged Encounter and other preparation programs are not appropriate for individuals who have been married for several years. A different approach is needed. The Covenant Experience method has been modified to meet this need.

Entitled “The Covenant Experience for Convalidations,” it has been adapted from the highly successful Covenant Experience Weekend, and tested within the Archdiocese of Miami.

This is a “sleep-at-home” event, beginning on Friday evening from 7:00PM to 10:00PM and resuming on Saturday from 8:30AM until 5:00PM
